HOW TO WALK
It's Easy
To Participate!
Step 1: Decide.
Register (either online or through the mail with the
printable Registration Form). Everyone who registers will receive a free t-shirt.
Mail in your registration by Monday, May 5th or register online before Wednesday,
May 14th to qualify for reduced Early-Bird Registration fees.
Step 2: Recruit.
We are looking for a great turnout and you can help make this happen by telling your
friends, co-workers, and neighbors about the Walk. Form a team and have even more fun!

Don't have a team? No problem! Walk with your pet or just by yourself.

INDIVIDUALLY.
Step 3: Collect.
Make copies of the Pledge Form and start collecting today. It's easy -- ask everyone
you know to pledge. Our goal is for each walker to raise at least $100 in pledges. See
a SAMPLE FUND-RAISING LETTER.
The more you raise in pledges, the more you help the animals and the more PRIZES you can win!
Step 4: Walk!
Come on Saturday May 17th, rain or shine, and Walk for the Animals! (click
here for schedule and directions.) Enjoy great entertainment, activities, vendors, and others who
care about animals.
Walk for the Animals GUIDELINES:
- Consider the age of your pet before bringing him/her - young animals and seniors can tire, overheat
or become cold more easily.
- All dogs must wear an identification tag and be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
- All dogs must be current on vaccinations, including rabies.
- Threatening or disruptive dogs and dogs in heat will be asked to leave.
- Walkers must "stoop and scoop" after their dogs - plastic bags will be provided.
- Children 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult.
INDIVIDUAL WALKER
Our goal for each individual walker is to raise at least $100 in pledges, which will directly help our
community’s animals. Ask your friends, family, co-workers or neighbors to support you in
reaching this goal for a very important cause. Come and participate in the 5k
or one-mile fun Walk and bring your pet if you would like a partner!
Individual Prizes:
- Raise $500 or more and you will
be entered in an exclusive raffle for a $150 PetSmart gift card. Only those raising $500 or more will be eligible to win
- Raise
$250 or more and receive an APS sports bottle and an APS Walk bandana for your pet
- Raise $100 or more and receive an
APS sports bottle
TEAM WALKER
Walking with family, co-workers, friends and classmates makes the Walk more fun and helps
to raise more money for the animals. Recruit three or more of your friends and form a team.
Bring your pets and enjoy a fun-filled day that helps the animals! There are many benefits for
team walkers:
Team Prizes:
- The team that raises the most
money in pledges will receive pizza party at Satisfaction Restuarant &
Bar, team trophy and special recognition in the APS Paw Prints
newsletter.
- Raise
$500 or more by Wednesday, April 30th and receive special team t-shirts with your team's name on the sleeve
in the color of your choice, APS sports bottle, team photograph and
special entry into
an exclusive raffle for a $150 PetSmart gift card.
- Raise $750 or more by Wednesday,
April 30th and receive dog all of the above and bandannas for your pet that match your special team t-shirts.
* Pledges turned in before the Walk and at
the Walk count toward the top team prize.
** Team pledges must be turned in by Wednesday, April 30th to qualify for the special bandanas and
t-shirts. Pledges turned in after this date count toward the Top Team Prize though.
REGISTRATION FEES
- Individual walker registration: $30
- Team member registration: $25
- Early-bird registration: $5 off the above fees
(Individual early-bird: $25; Team member early-bird: $20) if your registration is postmarked on or before
Monday, May 5th or if you
register online
before Wednesday, May 14th
