We have recently em-barked on a new journey! I am training for the 2008 Walk for the Animals, a pet extravaganza that will be held May 17th, 2008 at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. The Walk for the Animals will feature short and long walk routes, canine contests, live music, pet demonstration groups, as well as lots of great pet giveaways. (T-R-E-A-T-S, need I say more?)

Pledges raised through the Walk for the Animals will directly support the Animal Protection Society of Durham in their efforts to educate the public about the humane care and treatment of animals, promote spay/neuter and encourage the adoption of homeless animals.

Here's how you can help…
  • Join us! I'm walking with a team. You can walk with us, form your own team, or walk as an individual. They have made it so easy to register! Just visit www.apswalk.org
  • Sponsor me! If you can't walk, send me a pledge. My fund-raising goal is $200. You can make your donation online or send a check. Please make checks payable to the APS of Durham.
  • Spread the word! We're looking for 1,000+ adventuresome pets and their people to make our walk a great success and help feed the starving, heal the wounded, and house the homeless.
The Walk for the Animals is a day of fun for a great cause... and that's no poop! We hope you can join us in meeting our goals.
